In coordination with the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance, police elements in the city of Safi successfully thwarted a drug trafficking attempt in the early hours of Thursday, October 2, seizing approximately 5 tons of hashish.
The operation took place in the rural area of “Ayer,” located about 60 kilometers from Safi. It resulted in the confiscation of bundles of hashish weighing a total of 4,725 kilograms, which were found in a utility vehicle bearing foreign registration plates. The driver managed to escape.
The national police have launched a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to uncover the circumstances surrounding this case and apprehend all those involved in the criminal activity.
