Opposition Led by Akhannouch Accuses Political Parties of Inciting and Exploiting Youth Movements

The National Rally of Independents party, led by Aziz Akhannouch, accused unnamed political parties of inciting and agitating youth, claiming these parties are attempting to co-opt the aspirations of youth movements.

The party’s political office met on Wednesday, October 1, in Rabat. In a statement released afterward, it expressed astonishment at the efforts of some political entities to appropriate the aspirations of youth movements and to use them for incitement through the spread of falsehoods and rumors, undermining the work of institutions.

The party emphasized that this phase necessitates collective political responsibility and an approach of listening and engaging with various societal movements from their respective positions.

Conversely, the party expressed its understanding of these movements, both digitally and in public spaces, affirming its commitment to all channels of dialogue, particularly as the collective ambitions of youth movements intersect with the priorities being implemented by the government across various sectors and public institutions.

The party stated that listening to the various demands of societal movements is the best entry point to accelerate the implementation of related public policies and to complete various measures to achieve them.

Additionally, the party commended the systematic interventions of various security agencies, praising their balanced approach, in accordance with relevant legal procedures, to maintain public order and protect citizens and their property.
