Health Minister Inspects Service Quality at Tetouan Hospital

Minister of Health Visits Tetouan for Healthcare Facility Inspection

On Thursday, September 25, Minister of Health and Social Protection Amine Tahraoui visited Tetouan, where he conducted an inspection tour of several healthcare facilities and projects in the city. This visit aligns with the minister’s ongoing program of field visits following public protests regarding the Hassan II Hospital in Agadir.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, the visit aims to implement a policy of proximity and direct interaction with the aspirations of citizens and health professionals. The objective is to support efforts to reform and develop health institutions across all regions of Morocco.

The minister began his tour by visiting the regional hospital project in Tetouan, where he assessed the progress of this vital project, urging for its expedited completion. The project covers an area exceeding 3 hectares and is expected to have a capacity of around 380 beds.

The tour also included the facilities of the Saniya Rmel regional hospital in Tetouan, where the minister examined the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens. He reviewed the performance of various medical, surgical, and technical departments and checked the readiness of healthcare units and available equipment in this institution, which has a clinical capacity of approximately 330 beds.

During a meeting with health professionals, the minister reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to improving working conditions across various healthcare institutions. This includes enhancing human resources, updating equipment, and providing a safe and motivating professional environment to ensure high-quality healthcare services for the targeted population.

It is noteworthy that the Minister of Health has initiated a series of visits to various public healthcare institutions, in parallel with the work of the central committee charged with overseeing reforms and supporting transformation efforts, in implementation of royal directives aimed at strengthening the healthcare system and enhancing its services.
