On Monday, September 22, the Moroccan football club Raja Casablanca officially announced the appointment of South African coach Fadlu Davids, replacing Tunisian coach Lassaad Jarda Chebbi.
The club stated that Davids’ selection was based on recommendations from the sporting director and a general evaluation conducted by the sports committee regarding the current season’s preparations and initial official matches.
Additionally, the appointment of Davids was influenced by his prior knowledge of Raja Casablanca, as part of the club’s new project aimed at establishing a stable and effective structure with a forward-looking vision. The club emphasized that the new coach would work to enhance group cohesion and guide the team toward achieving its ambitions.
Notably, Davids led Tanzanian club Simba to the runner-up position in the African Confederation Cup last season against the tournament’s champion, RS Berkane.
Davids previously served as an assistant to German coach Joseph Zinnbauer while he was at Raja Casablanca (2023–2024), winning the national championship and the Moroccan Cup with him.
Currently, Raja Casablanca is in third place in the Moroccan league and had hired Tunisian Lassaad Jarda Chebbi in February.
