On Tuesday, September 23, the Bank Al-Maghrib council, meeting in Rabat, decided to maintain the main interest rate at 2.25%.
In a statement, Bank Al-Maghrib noted that considering the moderate levels of inflation and the continuing uncertainties surrounding economic prospects, which remain elevated, the council opted to keep the main interest rate unchanged at 2.25%. The bank will continue to reinforce measures aimed at facilitating financing conditions for businesses, particularly very small enterprises.
The council will closely monitor the economic situation and base its decisions at each meeting on the latest updated data.
According to a survey conducted by the “Commercial Global Research” Center, 51% of investors anticipated that the main interest rate would remain unchanged.
