Air Arabia Maroc Flight Involved in Air Accident

An Air Arabia Maroc Airbus A320 encountered a technical issue shortly after taking off from Catania Airport in Sicily on October 20, 2025. The aircraft, registered as CN-NML, was en route to Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, Jordan. Just after departure, it experienced a sudden altitude drop, coming within 60 meters of sea level while traveling at over 480 kilometers per hour.

The Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) issued a “PULL UP” alarm, prompting the crew to act swiftly to regain altitude, successfully completing the flight without further incident.

The Italian National Agency for Civil Aviation Safety (ANSV) classified the incident as a “serious incident” and has launched an investigation to determine potential causes, which may include errors in takeoff settings, weight and balance calculations, or a technical malfunction.

Air Arabia Maroc confirmed awareness of reports regarding the incident and stated it is cooperating with Italian authorities in the ongoing investigation. However, no official statement has been released detailing additional facts or actions taken.
